Greece is currently grappling with a surge in Covid-19 cases due to a new variant named FLiRT
Holidaymakers jetting off to Greece are being alerted to a significant outbreak of a new Covid variant in the country, with mask restrictions being reintroduced. The Metaxa Oncology Hospital in Piraeus has announced that from July 15 it will be implementing strict protective measures against Covid-19 for the next 15 days.

These include mandatory mask-wearing in all indoor areas, particularly patient wards, and strict adherence to hygiene protocols such as hand washing, reports Birmingham Live.
These measures will be in place from Monday, July 15, 2024 until Monday, July 29, 2024, at which point there will be a review based on the epidemiological data available at that time.
