Revenue customs officers have seized more than 1.9 million cigarettes at Dublin Port

The seizure was made yesterday as the result of routine profiling and the help of detector dog Waffle.

The consignment of illegal cigarettes, branded 'Manchester', had an estimated retail value of €1.4 million, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of around €1.1 million.This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and the supply and sale of illegal tobacco products.
