Revenue officers seized 82 kgs of herbal cannabis and 9 kgs of cannabis resin, worth €1,694,000, throughout the week

Revenue has seized a whopping amount of cannabis concealed in parcels in Dublin over the course of last week.

Throughout the week starting on Monday, April 15, revenue officers, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Milo, examining parcels at premises in Dublin seized a staggering 82 kgs of herbal cannabis and 9 kgs of cannabis resin. The illicit drugs were discovered in parcels originating from Spain and were destined for addresses throughout Leinster. Officers have estimated that the combined worth of the seizure is €1,694,000.A spokesperson for revenue told the Irish Mirror that investigations into these seizures are ongoing.

Milo has been busy over the last few weeks. On Tuesday, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of Milo, revenue officers seized 137,500 cigarettes and 58 kgs of rolling tobacco with an estimated value of almost €163,000 at Dublin Port.

These seizures are part of revenue’s ongoing work targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
