With comfortable beds, delicious dining options and an incredible spa, The Johnstown Estate in Co. Meath is the perfect choice for a relaxing weekend

getaway.

I caught eyes with the woman across from me who shrugged her shoulders and smiled. Nokia ringtones tolled in the background as calls for Mary and Betty echoed around the coach. Two latecomers donning pearls hurried to join the gaggle, slipping through the automatic doors just before they shut for the last time. As I said, the whole thing was chaotic, though admittedly, very funny too.

The spa at the Johnstown Estate really is exceptional. Everything is close to brand-new , it’s never overcrowded and the combination of both indoor and outdoor facilities means you feel truly immersed in nature – intrinsically calming in itself. The pre-treatment fresh fruit is a lovely touch and there is an abundance of aqua-beds and heated ceramic loungers to lay down on and fully switch off.
