Underneath the pop tunes, sparkles and attitude lay a show that celebrates queer joy, friendship and love - in all its forms

We all know the story of the star-crossed lovers. And we all know how their fated romance turns tragic.

To her horror his beloved wife Anne Hathaway, played by the effervescent Lara Denning, asks why should Juliet also seal her fate, and instead suggests writing an alternate ending . The standout of the show, Gerardine Sacdalan plays Juliet herself. And what a voice she has. She encapsulates every moment on stage, with effortless control and power that you cannot help but look at her.

Around half an hour in, whilst Juliet's group were trying to get into an exclusive club, the show was briefly halted and the lights came up. Another highlight of the first act was Dr Ranj Singh, playing the Lance Du Bois, in a hilarious duet of Teenage Dream/Break Free with Angelique. It left the audience in stitches.
