Armagh have been in the quarter-final in the last two seasons and lost on penalties, while they’ve been eliminated on each of the last six occasions that they’ve reached that stage of the Championship.
Rian O’Neill fully believes that there’s an All-Ireland in Armagh as the Championship finally reaches the business end.
“He’s a great backroom team in around him and he instils that belief in us that we’re there and we’re as good as what’s around and we firmly believe that but, at the end of the day, we have to show up in these big games and give a good account of ourselves and hopefully that’s enough but if you’re asking if we believe, absolutely 100%, yeah.”
“I don't know if it leaves a residue as such. I think there's a bit of hurt there surely, but you've just got to park that and move on. That's in the past, you can't change that now. “I think if we felt low after last year’s Ulster final it definitely was lower this year after losing the second one in a row in penalties,” O’Neill explained.
