The World Cup came to an end and the RTE Panel reflected on the future of Irish football.
Richie Sadlier launched an impassioned speech about the future of women's football in Ireland as the World Cup came to a close on Sunday.
Vera Pauw's side failed to qualify out of the group but were competitive against Canada and Australia as well as earning a draw against Nigeria.Responding to being asked about where Ireland stand on the world stage, Karen Duggan said: "The main thing is we're on the stage. We made it that far and were very competitive.
And Emma Byrne believes this is the time to push forward, saying: "It's a huge thing. We need to kick on from here. Ireland did what I expected them to do, I didn't expect them to get out of the group. You can feel the whole country behind them which is exactly what you wanted and it is up to the FAI to push that forward.
