The greatest threat to the United States is not foreign powers such as Russia or China, but rather the internal threat of the 'militant left-wing,' Florida SenRickScott said at CPAC.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee's chairman indicated domestic ideological disparities were the most perilous to the U.S. because the"woke Left" has been crushing dissent across several institutions, both public and private.
“You may think, ‘Well, Rick, that's pretty dramatic. You call them the enemy within?’ Yes, I am,” Scott said. “The woke Left now controls the Democrat Party. The entire federal government, the news media, academia, big tech, Hollywood, most corporate boardrooms, and now even some of our top military leaders.”Scott indicated government military and intelligence policies aimed at rooting out “extremism” were often dog whistles for targeting conservatives.
Notably, Scott released his 11-point plan not through the NRSC apparatus but through his own campaign, even though he is not up for reelection this cycle. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has declined to lay out an agenda for what Republicans would do if they win back the upper chamber.
