SAN DIEGO — Every worker at Rise Up industries has at least one thing in common, they've all served time.
Ragland is part of Rise Up's re-entry program. It was founded back in 2016 to help former gang members who've recently been released from prison break the cycle of recidivism. Founding president Joe Gilbreath says the idea was born out of need, a need that he didn't see being addressed in San Diego County.
