Now as the cost-of-living crisis grips the UK, new research by the charity and Censuswide has revealed that workers from Black, Asian and minority backgrounds have blasted government support, adding that they will struggle to see through the winter months Sheeraz Gulsher, co-founder of People Like Us, described Rishi Sunak becoming Britain’s first Prime Minister of colour as “positive,” but it still left much of the UK’s ethnic minority community suffering under rising costs.

Over a quarter employees from racialised backgrounds left their industry because they weren’t given a pay rise they felt they deserved, while half said not getting a salary increase or promotion led them to spiral with anxiety or depression.
