Supporters of Rishi Sunak have criticised Liz Truss’s controversial comments about Nicola Sturgeon, describing them as “unhelpful” and playing into the SNP’s hands.the Foreign Secretary accused the First Minister of being an “attention seeker” who was best ignored.
Tory party members cheered and applauded as she said: “I think the best thing to do with Nicola Sturgeon is ignore her. She’s an attention seeker, that’s what she is.” Describing her comments as “completely and utterly unacceptable”, he also said they were “deeply troubling” given how close Ms Truss is to becoming Prime Minister.
