Rita managed to grab her first record deal at the tender age of 16. She shot to global fame in the early 2010s finding success with a number of UK charting songs. In 2015, she sued her record label, Roc Nation for neglect while they countersued for breach of contract. She said: “It was about, ‘OK,now I want to be able to do this again with owning my own music,’ and that battle was hard. I just felt like, ‘is it worth it? I don’t know’. I guess I just started to really question my strength.”
