The annual River of Light festival has begun in Liverpool, showcasing 12 stunning artworks from artists around the world. The festival runs until November 5 and offers a self-guided trail for visitors to explore at their own pace. 'Quiet Hour' sessions are also available on select days.
This year's River of Light festival opened to the public tonight as crowds gathered at Liverpool's waterfront.
There are 12 artworks in total, created by artists from all over the world. The artworks will all light up each night during the festival from 5pm-9pm. For 2023, the festival will run from tonight until November 5. It is a free event with the trail completely self-guided meaning visitors can explore each artwork at their own pace and direction.
Artworks can be found across the city centre including in Derby Square, Royal Albert Dock and Exchange Flags Square. This year, River of Light will have 'Quiet Hour' sessions. These sessions will take place on Sunday, October 29 and Wednesday, November 1 from 4pm-5pm.to help plan your visit.
