Cockney Rebel frontman Steve Harley has died after a short battle with cancer just a month after his official social media page announced that he was taking a break from touring to undergo treatment
Rock star Steve Harley has died at his Suffolk home on Sunday morning after a short battle with cancer at the age of 73.
His fans took to the comments to wish him well, with one writing: "All the best with your treatment Steve, here’s hoping for a full recovery." While another commented: "Hope you feel better soon, sending love to you and yours." A third wrote: "Sending positive thoughts your way. Best wishes to you and your family."
Steve had a higher successful music career with his band Cockney Rebel, having a huge hit across Europe with Sebastian from their debut album with EMI in 1973, hitting the top spot in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was in 1975 that Steve made his name as Make Me Smile went to number one in the charts.
Steve also shared his sadness over Steve Wright's death in February, saying that it had "shattered" him and that they had known each other since the sixties.
