The Rockets’ fifth one-game homestand of the season’s first two months lasted longer than they expected. This time, they stopped by to play two overtimes and take a win over the 76ers, extending their home winning streak to three games.
No team has played more road games than the Rockets. In recent seasons, however, they have played better against the Spurs in San Antonio than in Houston, splitting the games at AT&T Center in the past two seasons. The Rockets outscored the Sixers 52-40 in the paint and have scored at least 50 paint points in five of their past seven games. They had scored 50 points in the paint in six of their first 17 games of the season.
The Spurs, however, allow the third-most points in the lane and give up the most field goals within five feet in the league, 22 per game. The Rockets average 19.3 per game, 11th most in the NBA.
