Musician Roisin Murphy usually keeps her private life out of the spotlight, but here, she chats about her children Tadhg, 12, and Clodagh, 14, getting older and the feeling of fear to strike out on her own
Arklow singer Róisín Murphy has been in the music business for more than 30 years, starting off as one half of electro dance duo Moloko, with her partner at the time Mark Brydon.She has opened up to RSVP Magazine about the fear to go solo, life with her children and turning 50.Roisin keeps her home life out of the public eye, and she told us her children Tadhg and Clodagh don't see her as someone who is considered "famous".
"It’s not like I feel famous, and I don’t think about success so much as adventure. It’s an adventure I’ve been on for 30 years. It’s like a rollercoaster and I’m addicted to that buzz." "Any career would be good," said Roisin. "For kids these days, it’s very difficult for them growing up. As long as they get some sort of calling and some sort of dignity in work, then I’d be happy.
After being one part of electro dance duo Moloko, Roisin parted ways with Mark Brydon in 2004 and struck out on her own - some thing she has admitted that was scary.
