Cristiano Ronaldo didn't take kindly to being dropped by ex-Portugal boss Fernando Santos during the 2022 World Cup which seemed to cause irreparable damage to their relationship
Ex-Portugal boss Fernando Santos revealed last year that he hadn't spoken to Cristiano Ronaldo for a year after dropping him at the 2022 World Cup.

Ex-Everton and Wigan boss Roberto Martinez succeeded Santos in 2023 and has since led Portugal to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 after a penalty shoot-out win over Slovenia on Monday .
