The Porto and Portugal star has called an end to his career after more than 800 appearances having played for the likes of Real Madrid and Besiktas on his way to winning 34 trophies
Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a touching message to his former teammate Pepe, following the defender's decision to step away from football.
Ronaldo shared much of his career with his compatriot. The Portuguese stars found success on the international stage at Euro 2016 but also found glory as teammates at Real Madrid. At 39, Ronaldo is two years Pepe's junior and is currently continuing his career in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr. The former Manchester United star, despite his struggles on the international stage, has continued to score goals aplenty at club level.
