RTE broadcaster Ronan Collins has opened up to RSVP Magazine about his family life and how he makes time to look after his emotional and physical health as he gets older
Ronan Collins has said his grandchildren have given him a new lease of life as he opened up about his family life.
The RTE broadcaster noted that as he gets older, his family and friends become more and more important in his life. He opened up to RSVP Magazine about how he looks after himself as he gets older, both emotionally and physically.“I’m very lucky, I’ve been married to the same woman for nearly 46 years, I have children, I have grandchildren, I’m in contact with them all,” Ronan told us. “They’re very important to us and our grandchildren have given us a new lease of life. We’re very lucky that we have great access to our kids and our grandkids, we see them all the time.
“That’s the worry as you get older I think; the things that can happen to you that you can’t prevent happening, the unknown. Other things you can prevent, like I’m conscious now of my weight. I was very heavy for years, and in the last 20 years my weight has reduced dramatically and I’m conscious of how much I eat. Having had the spinal issue seven years ago, I’m also very protective of my ability to keep moving. I play golf a few times a week and I always walk, I don’t use buggies.
