Rory McIlroy filed for divorce from his wife of seven years Erica Stoll in May and stated in court documents that their marriage was “irretrievably broken”.Now a source is stating that the married pair held talks each weekend over four weeks at their home in Jupiter, Florida and this was the key to saving their relationship.
Erica was notified of her husband’s intention to divorce her via documents that were hand-delivered to her last month, the source claims. Erica was provided paperwork relating to her divorce by Carl Woods, a Palm Beach police officer. These papers warned: “You have 20 calendar days to file a written response to the attached petition with the clerk of this circuit court”.
It was reported that Erica did not hire a lawyer, talk to the media and did not respond to the divorce summons.
