Rory McIlroy wants to 'get the best players back together again' as he makes another strong push for the LIV Golf-PGA Tour merger to be completed in the near future
LIV Golf has been praised yet again by Rory McIlroy as he continues backtracking on previous statements made about the breakaway league.
"It sucks as a competitor that I only get to see and compete against some of those guys four times a year, because ultimately they do have some of the best players in the world that are playing some really good golf … To not see the very best players in the world together more often I think is a shame for the overall game of golf and for fans that want to watch the pro game around the world… There needs to be a correction.
If nothing changes, their biggest asset Jon Rahm could be in a position to miss the Ryder Cup and also fail to qualify for the four majors. A merger would resolve that, and McIlroy wants that to happen despite slamming LIV for over a year.McIlroy was famously anti-LIV, with his comments even leading to angry response from an unnamed executive. "I would say every big name on the PGA Tour will get an offer. Except Rory.
