Rory McIlroy has teed off at this year's US Open with the tournament coming in the wake of his divorce U-turn.
News broke in the wake of last month's PGA Championship that McIlroy and wife Erica had filed divorce proceedings, but in a U-turn the pair have decided to give their relationship another shot. “Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
After making it to the course with just minutes to spare, McIlroy went on to beat Keegan Bradley as Europe pulled off the ‘Miracle at Medinah’ by recovering from 10-6 behind to retain the trophy.
