The festival boss has called on local businesses to support the iconic annual festival
Some of the Rose of Tralee festival could be moved from Kerry to Dublin unless more local support is received.
However, the CEO has said that the two televised nights of the iconic festival may have to move to the capital from the Kerry Sports Academy in the Munster Technological University, where it has previously taken place.Speaking on Radio Kerry, O'Gara explained that Kerry County Council has not increased its financial contribution to the festival for almost a decade, Dublin Live reports.
The Rose of Tralee boss said: "I think the TV part of the festival might have to move, but I would hope that wouldn't happen. I would work seriously with everybody involved and I would be absolutely committed to making sure that doesn't happen." There have already been some changes to the festival in recent years. This year's festival was the first year in which a co-host, Kathryn Thomas, joined long-time presenter Dáithí Ó Sé - a move that was well-received by fans of the festival.
