Riders quarterback Cody Fajardo left Tuesday\u0027s practice early to be with his wife for upcoming birth of their first son.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ starting quarterback departed after getting word that his wife Laura was due to give birth. Fajardo isn’t the only member of the Riders with a baby on his mind. Dickenson said that offensive lineman Terran Vaughn was absent because his girlfriend is due. Vaughn, who has battled shoulder issues this season, isn’t expected back for Friday’s game. Due to a dental issue, Vaughn didn’t play in Saturday’s 54-20 loss to the host Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
“I’ve been around football all my life and I’ve never seen anything like that and I was getting an IV 40 minutes before the game,” Richardson said. “I got it on game day so I was in the middle of the sickness when the game started. It was a crazy way to get your first start.”“I knew that once I could start the game that the mind is a powerful thing and it was how I was going to get through this game,” Richardson said.was also battling the virus.
