Jurors found Lynell Glover not guilty of first-degree murder, but convicted him of second-degree murder and aggravated battery in the death of Anthony Awad, who was 17 when he died in early 2021, and the wounding of Awad’s twin brother.
Glover shot the brothers in a confrontation along Illinois Route 12 near Volo in the early morning hours of Jan. 3, 2021.
Prosecutors, though, said the evidence pointed to Glover shooting the brothers as they ran away from him. Jurors spent four days sorting through the differing accounts. “The jury correctly saw that Mr. Glover was wrong to take the law into his own hands,” Rinehart said.
