Roy Keane lived up to his no-nonsense persona when asked about Senegal's raucous fanbase ahead of their World Cup round of 16 clash with England.thanks in no small part to their vibrant and passionate following.
Despite an injury to talisman Sadio Mane on the eve of the tournament in Qatar, Senegal reached the knockout stages for only the second time in their history when they finished runners-up in Group A behind the Netherlands.. Never one to mince his words, the former Manchester United captain-turned-pundit was typically blasé when commenting on wave of Senegalese support going on beneath them in the ITV studio.
Presenter Mark Pougatch said: “They’ve got fantastic support down here. The vivid colours, the noise, the music, the sense of occasion…” Former England and Arsenal striker Ian Wright concurred: “Unbelievable.
