It follows injury to a cast member and 'technical' issues
The Royal Exchange Theatre has cancelled this autumn's production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A new take on the Shakespeare classic was due to run at the Manchester theatre until October 12.
But the first week of shows were halted following an injury to a cast member and 'ongoing technical reasons'. Now, ticketholders have been contacted to inform them the run has now been cancelled entirely. Customers will be offered refunds. The email said: "We're writing to let you know that the Royal Exchange Theatre has cancelled its production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream which was due to run until October 12."There have been a number of issues with the production. Every effort was made to get the show on. We apologise to all customers who had bought tickets and will issue immediate refunds.
It added: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding." The Royal Exchange Theatre has been approached for further comment.
