The rare coins are highly sought after by collectors.
The coin maker has ranked the currency on when they were produced and their official mintage figure of how many were made. The most valuable is the Kew Gardens edition, worth £650.
Many of the 50ps in question were minted to commemorate a notable occasion in culture, sport or history. The Kew Gardens coin was released in 2009 to mark 250 years since the famous gardens opened in 1759. Certain 50ps are highly sought after by avid collectors and can be sold online for quite large amounts.
