The RTÉ Board said that Tubridy was paid over €300,000 more during this time than initially declared. It then issued an apology over the matter, describing it as"a serious breach of trust with the public".
However, in a statement on Wednesday , the national broadcaster said that negotiations regarding Tubridy's Radio One show have been put on hold.This is as his most recent contract with RTÉ began in July 2020 and was due to end in March 2025."RTÉ has written to his agent that the contract including all arrangements therein has come to an end.
