RTÉ's new Director-General Kevin Bakhurst has said he is willing to lose talent in order to make savings at the broadcaster, adding that he's "done it before", referring to veteran broadcaster Pat Kenny leaving for Newstalk.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Mr Bakhurst admitted there may have been an element of RTÉ "competing with itself" for high-profile journalists. He said he is willing to lose talent to save money. "I've done it before... 100 per cent. I am also willing to lose talent if the negotiations don't go well on new contracts."
