Justin Greene pled guilty to one count of possessing six graphic sexual images of teenage girls aged between 12 and 15 years old at his home on May 15, 2022.
The 52-year-old, from Johnstown Way in Enfield County Meath, was convicted on October 6, 2023, when he appeared before Judge John Martin at Trim Circuit Criminal Court.
A spokeswoman for the broadcaster said the sicko, who worked as a studio news director, “resigned unexpectedly” in March, and “no stated reason” was given. They stressed they received no communication from the Gardai and confirmed Greene had “no allocated RTE mobile phone”. They said his crimes took place at a difficult time in his life and said Greene’s online activities "led to a fascination with teenage girls".
The judge said jailing Greene was "not an act of vengeance" but an act of justice that must contain an element of punishment and rehabilitation.
