RTÉ has finally confirmed that Hardy Bucks, the beloved Irish comedy series, will be returning for a new season.

"Audience favourite Hardy Bucks is coming soon to RTÉ with a new series, and Mayo might finally have won the All-Ireland, but not everyone is buzzing for life in Mayo in 2026.

"Now middle-aged, the Hardy Bucks gang aren't exactly living the life of craic they hoped. The price of creamy pints is still rising, and it’s no easier to find a gaff.

"But with some young bucks following in their footsteps, there's still shenanigans to be had in Castletown. " On Off the Ball last month, Colgan was asked how the Hardy Bucks boys would celebrate Mayo winning its first All-Ireland football title in 75 years, which had just happened at the time of the interview. He added:"Yeah, new one on the way, but this is not about us. It's about the Mayo team.

" The hosts were surprised by Colgan's announcement, asking:"Is that just because of the result on Sunday? " The actor then joked:"I went straight to the boys in RTÉ and I said: 'Give us another season. ' They're like: 'Yeah, no bother at all. '" Seeming to speak more seriously, he added:"We're making another season.

Six more episodes on the way. Filmed in a mockumentary style, Hardy Bucks followed a group of 20-something slacker lads - including Buzz, Eddie Durkan, and Viper Higgins - in Castletown, Co. Mayo and"their attempts to find the craic". Created in 2007, Hardy Bucks first aired as online webisodes. This was before it was picked up by RTÉ for several seasons.

The sitcom was such a big hit that it got the big screen treatment, with The Hardy Bucks Movie arriving in cinemas in 2013.
