The RTE star was attacked while filming No Frontiers.
The Operation Transformation host opened up about the incident, which took place while she was filming in Papua New Guinea for her former travel show No Frontiers, which she hosted in the early 2000s.She said: “I thought ‘this is where it’s all going to end’. I thought I would have a different reaction, I thought I’d fight or run or scream, but all of a sudden the fear overcame me and I just remember bowing my head.
She said her personal highlight from the travel show was a trip to the Antarctic: “It’s like being on a different planet, it was just you and nature and very few people have been. It was amazing to see it in all its glory.” “I am disappointed it’s not there. I couldn’t have given anymore. It will be missed. I hope something comes and replaces that. I think where we are with our health in this country is frightening. I think we need population-based health initiatives.”
“My greatest joy in life is walking my girls to school every day. Having children later in life comes with its own challenges. Myself and Padraig weren’t spring chickens. You’re definitely more tired. Padraig is 50 and I keep calling him Rod Stewart - he was knocking out children when he was 70 whatever – and Padraig is like, ‘yeah he’s a multimillionaire with multiple nannies and he’s never home, there’s a vast difference.
