She's a Corker: Today host Sinead Kennedy chats to us about splitting her time between Ireland and Brussels, adapting to life as a mum of two and why she is so grateful for her long and colourful TV career
Sinead Kennedy became a household name over 22 years ago after landing her first presenting gig on Saturday morning kids TV. Sattitude was only a stepping stone for the ambitious and talented Cork girl who went on to host multiple shows like Winning Streak, The Big Money Show and currently Today, but she also made some hard-hitting documentaries including the award-winning Laura Brennan: This Is Me.
Life is busy. I’ve been back in Ireland from Brussels properly since mid September and I feel like I haven’t taken my foot off the pedal since I stepped off the plane in Cork. We came home on a Friday, had a friend’s wedding on the Saturday and on the Sunday, it was pack the bags and get ready for Monday. Indie started preschool, Theo started with his child minder. The first Monday was an absolute baptism of fire because I was straight back into the office as well.
Do you think TV in Ireland is in trouble – are people watching shows on terrestrial TV like they used to? Is there anything you would like to try in the future – a podcast, a fashion line, you already host events?
