Some of the national broadcaster's delegation spent 16 days in Malmo for the competition, racking up €61,927 in hotel bills and €13,694 in subsistence expenses

RTÉ spent almost €400,000 on this year’s Eurovision entry, sending a delegation of 21 people to Malmo, Sweden for the competition – some of whom stayed in the country for 16 days.

Others, including commentator Marty Whelan, travelled on May 4. The entire delegation returned the day after the final on May 12. The cost of accommodating the team in a hotel came to €61,927. Production costs associated with the Irish performance amounted to €73,438, while a further €1,459 was spent on "representation", according to information released by RTÉ last night.
