The hugely popular Cork based comedy is back on our screens very soon - but there has been no confirmation as of yet as to when the new episodes will air on RTE

RTE has issued an update on airing the fourth season of the Young Offenders after BBC confirmed new episodes would begin airing next month.

All beloved characters from the hugely popular first three seasons and movie will return for more "hilarious and heartwarming adventures", but it could spell bad news for Irish viewers who don't have access to BBC.The Young Offenders airs on RTE One as well, and last year it was announced that the transmission of new episodes would be deferred until 2025 as part of a series of budget-saving measures for the national broadcaster.

The Young Offenders is a ratings smash, both for RTE in Ireland and BBC in the UK. The second and third seasons, filmed back-to-back in 2019, proved massive draws for audiences around the world so fans were thrilled to hear the comedy would be returning for more. "We've been able to change things up a little bit this time around, but the show is still true to its roots, we wanted to give the fans the same mix of funny storylines that are also heartfelt, so it's very much the same show with all cast returning.
