Luis Rubiales spent the vast majority of his playing career in Spain, before a very short spell in Scotland.
Luis Rubiales shows no sign of giving up on his battle to remain in charge of Spanish football, even though he has been handed a provisional 90-day FIFA suspension.
He lined out alongside Rubiales for his three appearances at the start of the 2009/10 season, before the Spaniard decided that Scottish football was not for him. The latest development has seen Rubiales’ mother lock herself inside a church and go on hunger strike, over the reaction to her son’s unsolicited kiss on the lips of player Jenni Hermoso during the medal presentation in Sydney.
“He was only there for a brief time, so we didn’t really get a good chance to get to know his personality, but he definitely showed good leadership qualities. His senior breakthrough came in the regional leagues with Andalusian side Guadix. He played for a season in Mallorca’s reserve team and then played lower league football at Lleida and Xerez.And after a season at Alicante, Rubiales made the surprise move to Scotland.
