Ruud van Nistelrooy, 48, has been appointed as the new manager of Leicester City, following Steve Cooper's dismissal. Van Nistelrooy, who recently left Manchester United, takes over the club after a brief stint as caretaker boss following Erik Ten Hag's departure.
The Dutchman has been confirmed as Steve Cooper 's replacement at the King Power Stadium after the Welshman was unceremoniously dismissed on Sunday. Cooper had lost the dressing room after just 12 Premier League matches in charge and Foxes chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha felt compelled to act after witnessing Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea.
However, with new boss Amorim bringing in his own ideas and wanting a fresh start, Van Nistelrooy also exited - despite being keen to stay. The news was confirmed in a statement on Friday night, with club owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, saying: "It is my pleasure to welcome Ruud to Leicester City. He joins a Club with a rich history, passionate supporters, and a talented squad, and we are all excited to see the impact he can have as we embark on this new chapter together.
