The former RTE star has yet to announce his next project, but fans are speculating he could return to our airwaves soon.
Ryan Tubridy could follow in the footsteps of Pat Kenny and host a series of one-off shows for Virgin Media.
In 2021, Pat confirmed to us at the time that he was no longer working with Virgin Media but said he was still pals with station bosses. A TV insider said: “VMTV have been reviewing TV schedules and programming and Tubs would be a great asset to the station for special programming and human interest. It comes in the wake of Ryan’s cousin Brian Hughes teasing his return, saying Tubs will “never lie down”.
RTE director general Kevin Bakhurst has not spoken to Tubridy since revealing last week he would not be returning to his radio show. The broadcaster has been in crisis since revelations it misreported the salary paid to Ryan Tubridy and failed to disclose €345,000 of payments to him from 2017 and 2022.
