Police met the aircraft upon landing and the disruptive passenger was removed from the flight
A Ryanair flight departing from Dublin Airport to a popular holiday hotpot had to be diverted at the weekend due to a reported 'violent incident' onboard.
The Boeing 737-8AS was forced to divert to Lisbon due to the disruptive passenger behaviour, with the aircraft arriving at General Humberto Delgado Airport at around 5pm. The aircraft remained grounded at the Lisbon airport for around 90 minutes before continuing on its journey, with Flight FR7126 finally arriving in Gran Canaria just after 8.30pm on Saturday evening.
Ryanair have confirmed that a passenger was removed from the aircraft after becoming "disruptive onboard' as they reiterated that the airline has "a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct".
