Luke Donald will lead Europe into a second Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black next Autumn, but it appears Team Europe are already lining candidates for the 2027 event in Ireland
Francesco Molinari and Justin Rose will have the chance to prove their worth as potential future Ryder Cup captains, having been named as the two skippers for the DP World Tour's Team Cup.
As he did in 2023, Team Europe skipper Luke Donald is set to oversee proceedings, while Rose and Molinari will act as playing captains for Great Britain and Ireland and Continental Europe respectively. The pair are no doubt future Ryder Cup captain contenders, having announced themselves as two of Europe's most succesful players during their career. And they will get the chance to audition in front of Team Europe bosses at Abu Dhabi Golf Club next winter, when they face off against each other.
"It was a really special week in 2023 and was great to see players from so many different countries across the Continent working towards one single goal." This time around he will of course face off against another one of his former teammates in Rose, which according to the Englishman, will be a strange experience having often played alongside Molinari.
