Actor Sam Elliott apologized for slamming the Oscar-winning film The Power of the Dog on Sunday, calling all of the actors involved in the film"brilliant."
The 77-year-old actor discussed his initial comments on the film while promoting a television show, saying the film “struck a chord" with him and he appeared on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast to talk about “how I felt about the film.” He also said some of his criticisms of the movie"hurt people" and that he"felt terrible about that," according to Deadline.
Director Jane Campion responded to Elliott's criticisms on March 11, saying,"He was being a bit of a B-I-T-C-H" and describing her film as"just another version" of the West, the Hollywood Reporter reported.The Power of the Dog was nominated for 12 Academy Awards but only ended up winning one, with Campion scooping up best director.
