Sam Smith has announced an update to the lyrics of their biggest song ahead of it being re-released as part of the celebrations for their debut album's tenth anniversary.
The song was featured on Sam's debut album, In the Lonely Hour, which was released the same year. The chart-topping album is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and is set to be rereleased for the special occasion. The original opens with the lyrics: "Guess it's true, I'm not good at a one-night stand, but I still need love 'cause I'm just a man." The same part of new version will reportedly now conclude: "but I still need love, baby understand."
They are said to have stated: "This song is truly so special to me, so for the 10-year anniversary I re-recorded the track, which will be available on all platforms & physical. Including the updated lyric ‘but I still need love, baby understand’, which felt really important to me."
