The trip to the Vatican was part of work in furthering Catholic-Jewish relations
San Diego Jewish Academy leader Allie Hauser was part of a group of delegates who met with Pope Francis at the Vatican in an effort to continue building bridges in the Catholic-Jewish interfaith relationship.
“The visit accomplished that and so much more,” Hauser said. “I left not only inspired by the potential for interfaith collaboration on theological and service-oriented projects, but also by the deep Jewish history in the city of Rome and the significance of the chain of thousands of years of shared Jewish experience.”
During the trip, delegates also visited local Jewish communities and historical sites such as the Jewish catacombs and the Colosseum.
