You can't get more Chicago in San Francisco than eating a deep dish pizza with a cold beer and watching sports at a bar.
. An eviction notice was posted on the longtime pizza parlor’s window Tuesday, Magliardi reported.
Known for thick slices of Chicago-style pizza and cheese pulls the length of your arm, the Noe Valley location was a neighborhood place that fed families and, with its slice window, provided on-the-go lunches. Patxi’s was founded in 2004 by Bill Freeman and Francisco"Patxi" Azpiroz in Palo Alto.
It’s a bittersweet moment for me, personally, as I had many a deep dish pizza throughout the years from Patxi’s Noe Valley spot. With an ample layer of chunky tomato sauce glistened on top of melty cheese and crisp pepperoni topped off with speckles of dried oregano and black olives, Patxi's pizzas are a fond food memory. While watching sports at Valley Tavern on 24th Street — just two doors down from Patxi’s — I used to bring in whole pies to satiate my hunger between pints.
