The sports world has historically not been the most inclusive with the LGBTQ+ community, but San Francisco's Varsity Gay League is changing that.

SAN FRANCISCO -- The sports world has historically not been the most inclusive with the LGBTQ+ community, but that world is slowly beginning to evolve.

"It is a safe feeling, people of your own, it is your own community," said Le."This particular VGL community I belong to, it is like the biggest family I have ever had." But Le quickly found her grip and her place on the team, a team that gives her more than just a good sweat. "It has been a long time since I have felt any sort of isolation or adversity for being part of the LGBTQ community," said Garcia."And it is nice to reap the benefits of all the hard work of the community that has come before us to really lay the foundation for being more free and being more accepted and to have out in the open communities where people can play sports, can engage in common interests and to really just have a good time with each other.
