A San Jose police officer was shot in the leg overnight on Friday in a standoff at a home in East San Jose and hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
At around 10:30 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of King and Story roads. The driver immediately got out of the car and began firing a weapon at officers, police said. A police patrol car was hit multiple times by gunshots. Officers then returned fire at the man, striking his vehicle as it sped away.
