Gusty, dry and warm Santa Ana winds move through Southern California on Thanksgiving, bringing elevated fire danger to the region.
The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning that will be in effect through Friday morning for some mountains and valleys of Los Angeles County and parts of Ventura County.
A red flag warning is an indication that critical fire weather conditions are expected, and residents are urged to use caution with anything that can spark a wildfire. Los Angeles and Orange counties on Thanksgiving will see a high of 80 degrees, with sunshine and strong winds through the canyons. The valleys and Inland Empire will see a sunny Thursday with a high of 80 amid winds as strong as 35 mph.Mountain communities on Thursday will be cool with a high of 49 during the day. Sunshine is on tap, along with windy conditions.
