Galway girl Saoírse Ruane has become the youngest ever recipient of the Galway People of the Year Award aged just 11.
The recipient, who became well loved after her appearance on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020, has proven to lift the hearts of the nation with her strength after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.The charity work done by the Galway toy show star and her family was highlighted as she was presented with the award, as she shared her love of working to help others.
The award recipient was clearly wise well beyond her years, as she noted her appreciate for all the help she has received in her journey of recovery. "Saoírse is also the youngest person to ever receive this award in Galway. This is tremendous recognition for all who have received one, whether it be last night, previous years or in the future. You are the ones who have shown true courage & strength in the face of adversity.
