WolfPack creator, Jeff Davies, is still surprised that actor Sarah Michelle Gellar agreed to join the werewolf show, given her involvement in BuffyTheVampireSlayer. 'I’m just as surprised as anybody else that she said yes.'

The creator of both Teen Wolf and Wolf Pack was shocked when Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar agreed to join Wolf Pack. Based on Edo Van Belkom's Wolf Pack, the show will follow the adventures of four young teens struggling to come to terms with the two mysterious wildfires that caused all four of them to turn into werewolves. Gellar will portray an arson investigator trying to get to the bottom of the wildfires while supernatural creatures lurk in the shadows.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While Gellar has been a major part of Wolf Pack's marketing, it was never guaranteed she would appear in the show. Gellar previously stated that she was completely done playing Buffy, so it seemed unlikely that she would want to be involved in a similar supernatural-themed show.

"The conversations were me saying, 'Sarah Michelle Gellar? We are never going to get Sarah Michelle Gellar. She hasn’t done a show like this in years. There is no way she’s going to jump into this again knowing the legacy of Buffy and that she was the star of one of the best genre shows ever.' Then we met and we clicked. She really liked the script. I’m just as surprised as anybody else that she said yes.

Still, Gellar has embraced her Wolf Pack role and enjoys her return to teen fantasy drama, especially since Wolf Pack and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have a lot in common – similar themes, concepts, and supernatural elements.

Everything We Know About Wolf Pack Wolf Pack is set to explore the lives of teenage werewolves in a darker world than Teen Wolf or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as the pack tries desperately to solve mysterious fires and supernatural sightings. Despite media announcements and Davis' role in the project, Wolf Pack is not related to Teen Wolf in any way.
